Today on 25^th March, 2021, Shri Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose, Chairperson, Lokpal of India presented the Annual Report of Lokpal of India for the year 2019-20 to Shri Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India in Rashtrapati Bhawan. The Lokpal was established on 23^rd March, 2019 with the administration of oath of office to Shri Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose as Chairperson by the President of India. Subsequently, 4 judicial Members and 4 other Members took oath of office on 27^th March, 2019. The Lokpal functions under the provisions of Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013. As per Section 48 of the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, the Lokpal is required to present annually to the President of India a report on the work done by the Lokpal. This report is subsequently laid before each Houses of the Parliament.
